APPLICATION AND RECORDING INSTRUCTIONS
Please carefully review each requirement before submitting your video. This is as close as it gets to a live performance.
-
Videos will be submitted through the HeartOut app. Please make sure to download the app on your phone or tablet and follow the instructions carefully.
-
You will have a total of 3 recording attempts before you submit your audition. You can submit your audition even if you did not use all 3 attempts. After you finish recording, watch each video carefully and choose the one you like the most. Finally, select “submit audition” and you are done :)
-
You can familiarize yourself with the recording process on the “Mock Audition” in the app before you do your audition recording.
-
We recommend that you set your phone to airplane mode when prompted by the system, so nothing can interrupt your recording performance.
-
Video must be recorded horizontally - if you are using a phone or tablet, please make sure you flip it on its side. Vertical screen recordings will be rejected.
-
Audio must be clear and without any environmental noises or distractions. Please record only your playing, with neither talking nor announcing the pieces. You can make use of as many “recording tests” in the app to see which distance your audition sounds better from. These tests do not get saved anywhere.
-
Your program must be performed from beginning to end without stops, breaks or cuts.
-
Recordings should be a fair representation of the Contestant’s abilities - both hands and face profile must be visible at all times.
-
Piano requirements: grand piano or acoustic upright piano. No digital/electronic instruments are allowed. Piano must be fully functional and tuned.
-
Contestants must perform the entire program from memory.
-
Although there is no time limit for any category, we recommend the videos to be under 25 min.
-
Once the application is submitted, you will receive a unique code. Enter this code on the HeartOut app to access the CRPF Online Competition
